Big Birthday Gift for Texas Tailback from Huskies

We’ve talked about Texas (Lufkin) Caleb Berry before, and today he finally earned the offer he’d been waiting on.

“It’s very big”, the 6-0, 205 lb. tailback told Realdawg.com, “We got on Face Time…and especially since it’s my birthday. But they were waiting because they said they wanted to do it on my birthday.”

Berry’s family also “loved it”.

Right now Berry holds 16 offers, and he does plan to make an early decision, so getting up to Seattle continues to be a challenge — but it’s definitely in the plan right now.

“I think it will come down to program, the education, and if it’s family oriented”, Berry said of what will be the deciding factor in his decision.

On the field, Berry is a grinder of a back; he’s the quintessential inside power back, but can cut to the outside and take it to the house.

He’s an excellent blocker and has a low center of gravity, but he runs with a chip on his shoulder and will continue to develop his skills at the collegiate level.

Last season for Lufkin High School, Berry recorded 857 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Last year the Huskies reeled in Jay’Veon Sunday out of Texas, and they continue to solidify a pipeline in the Lone Star state where tailbacks are concerned.
