According to Betonling.ag, the Huskies sit at 11-1 odds to win the Pac-12 Championship. USC are the favorites at 2-1. Oregon is 11-5, while Utah is 5-1.
Washington faces an uphill battle this season coming off a 4-8 season. Jimmy Lake was fired as head coach mid season and things just never seemed to get better. Washington started the 2021 season with a shocking FCS loss to Montana at home. The Huskies could not generate any offense leaving their defense out to dry for most of the season.
The Huskies do have new hope for 2022. New head coach Kalen DeBoer steps in after leading Fresno State to a 9-3 finish in 2021. DeBoer has a career head coaching record of 79-9. DeBoer won three NAIA National Championships with Sioux Falls from 2005-2009. Washington should see significant improvements on the offensive side of the ball under Kalen DeBoer.
Washington’s last Pac-12 title was in 2018. The Huskies went 10-3 that season, losing to Ohio State in the Rose Bowl.
