APRIL FOOLS: 5-Star Defensive Lineman Chooses Oklahoma Over Washington

UPDATE: This was an April Fool’s Joke that I got fooled on.

When I boarded a ferry in Friday Harbor Stone was committed to Oklahoma, by the time I got off the ferry in Anacortes he let the world know that it was just an April Fool’s Prank.  I feel for it, hook, line, and sinker.

Earlier today, Washington Husky defensive lineman recruiting target, David Stone chose the Oklahoma Sooners over Washington and others.

Rated at the 4th best defensive line prospect and number 14 overall for the class of 2024, Stone made his commitment known via Twitter.

Playing for IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, Stone visited Washington this past January, just before signing day.

Washington has sent out 16 offers to defensive line prospects, with six now making their pledges known.  Of the remaining 10 uncommitted defensive lineman, there are three on the West Coast.

All are rated as 4-star and all are from California.  Mater Dei, Aydin Breland, T.A. Cunningham, of Los Alamitos, and Jericho Johnson from Fairfield.

Justin Scott of Chicago, Illinois is the  top uncommitted defensive lineman on the Huskies’ board.

Within Washington’s more traditional recruiting footprint outside of Washington, Oregon, and California, there are two uncommitted DL targets.

Three-star 6-3, 250 pound Legend Journey from Arlington, Texas and yet-to-be-rated, but fast-rising 6-4, 275 pound Omar Khan from Bridgeland, Texas.

This far the Huskies have two committed players for the 2024 class, 3-star EJ Caminong, a quarterback from Seattle’s Garfield High and 3-star receiver, Landon Bell from Las Vegas.
