The 6-4, 235 lb. TE/DE talked to Realdawg.com right after receiving an offer from the Huskies today, and now he has a lot to think about going forward.
Jones, who’s a teammate of WR commit, Germie Bernard and a teammate of newly-offered D-tackle, Sir Mells, said the Husky offer is “amazing”, and that it feels surreal to be having the opportunity now to go to college and play ball with his friends and teammates from Liberty High School.
“Coach K and Coach Cato both got on and told me Happy Thanksgiving and they want to give me a full ride offer”, Jones said.
Jones was in Seattle last weekend with his teammates and did get to see what he needed to see if he were to make an early decision, but right now he has a lot of thinking to do.
“My mom and my aunty were happy”, he said, “My mom cried.”
But again, this is another guy the coaches scouted out that hadn’t yet gotten all the major attention from other colleges yet — and that’s due to a slowdown in camps and combines due to COVID, so the Huskies were smart to get in the door early and give this young athlete his first Pac-12 offer.
So what’s next?
Stay tuned…
