Analysis: Where Does Washington Basketball 4-Star Big Man Transfer Fit?

Analysis: Where Does Washington Basketball 4-Star Big Man Transfer Fit?

The Washington Huskies have picked up a nice piece of depth this Thursday with the verbal commitment of Wilhelm Breidenbach. The 6-10 true sophomore is arriving in Seattle from the University of Nebraska.  He becomes Washington 5th transfer in this off-season, but the first post player.

In Lincoln, he came off the bench for a .500 Huskers.  A former 4-star forward/center, Breidenbach was featured in all 32 contests over the course of the year, but just 12.8 minutes per game.  In his time in the hardwood, he averaged 3.6 points and 2.7 rebounds per game while being third on the team in blocks.

Breidenbach will likely be a bench option for the Huskies this year but could see improved minutes based on the availability of Franck Kepnang who’s recovering from a season-ending injury.

The addition of an in-the-paint big-man will be huge for the Huskies as they look to take some of the physical beating off of Kepnang’s knee. Breidenbach should see more minutes at UW then he did at Nebraska and hopefully we are able to see the benefits for the big man.

Washington Bigs:

6-11, Sophomore, Franck Kepnang

6-10, Sophomore, Wilhelm Breidenbach

7-1, Junior, Braxton Meah
