In the late summer of 2021 a 6-4 190 pound receiver out of Emerald Ridge High School got his fourth major college offer. Along with WSU and the Arizona schools, the Huskies offered Denzel Boston an opportunity to play football on a scholarship. Boston then sat for two years behind some of the best receivers that have ever come through the tunnel on Montlake.
Fast forward to the 2025 season Denzel Boston is coming off a 834 yard, 9 touchdown season that landed him as an honorable mention on the all conference team. He steps onto the field this season as the clear #1 option and on all of the pre-season award lists, as well as a sure NFL draft prospect.
Husky fans know they have a bona fide star in Boston, but the questions remain on who is going to step up to fill out the rest of the rotation. The Huskies are loaded with potential stars, but only time will tell who becomes the robin to Boston’s Robin.
Transfer: Washington was able to go out and snag Omari Evans from Penn State. The former 3-star receiver was a starter last year and was good in the blocking game, but the Penn State offense focused so much around the running game and the tight ends that Evans only caught 21 balls on the season.
Coming to Washington has been a revelation for Evans who has been able to show his ability as a pass-catcher in fall camp. He has the athletic ability to win down the sidelines and has developed fundamentally sound foot work. By all accounts Evans will get first crack at the starting across from Boston.
Returners: The Huskies have some interesting pieces that spent most of the season behind Boston, Jeremiah Hunter, and Giles Jackson. One of the top prospects is DeBoer holdover Radshid Williams. Standing 6-1 Williams could start on the outside for many teams around the nation, but could see a varied role where Williams moves to the inside to see the field more.
Williams has turned heads in the spring and has been very productive during fall camp. The former 4-star recruit looks to take a big step forward as the 3rd or 4th option in the offense.
A Jedd Fisch coached team will have two types of receivers- big bodies on the outside and burners on the inside. two speedsters that will factor into the slot are Sophomores Kevin Green Jr. and Audric Harris. Both bring a ton of speed to the offense and are matchup nightmares for opposing defenses.
True Freshmen: The receivers in the 2025 recruiting class has the chance to go down as one of the deepest classes in program history. Last year Audric Harris burned his redshirt, this year could show up to three freshman burn theirs.
Two potential players to burn the redshirt enrolled early and competed in the spring. Chris Lawson and Raiden Vines-Bright. Lawson was the top rated receiver in the class. The 4-star prospect out of San Francisco is a tough nosed pass-catcher that bullies opposing corners like Rome Odunze used to do. Vines-Bright exploded onto the scene in the spring game showing off eye popping speed and a large catch radius.
Going into fall camp it seemed like those two would be the two freshmen to watch, but Dezmen Roebuck has turned heads this fall. In an press conference Jedd Fisch went out of his way to mention Roebuck’s development and his comfortability with the new playbook.
