Sam Adams talked to Realdawg.com this morning shortly after posting the video of his announcement, and he commented on what went in to his decision to be a Husky.
“I just took some time to really think about my top three, and there was just no better decision than to stay home and play for my city”, Adams said.
He had just spent the weekend helping out at a local camp with Budda Baker, “We do that every year”, he said, noting that it’s a group that was brought up and fostered in Ford Sports. Adams said Baker knew of his up coming decision.
“I’m just so relieved”, Adams added, “When I called KB, he was still in Cabo but said he would be back this week — he said I made his whole week.”
Adams also said that Coach Petersen was very excited to keep him home.
For Adams and his family, another boost for the Huskies was the proximity — they’re right across the bridge and Adams had told us this meant a lot for his family to be able to just come over and see him play.
But also it’s the opportunity he has at Washington, to win big, and to win it all…
“That’s the goal”, Adams said.
With 43 offers, Adams’ list looks like a who’s-who of Power Five super powers, and yet the networks kept him at four stars, “I’m still going fo that fifth star”, he said.
