4th and Inches: Washington Preview

Trevor Mueller and Jake Grant take a deep dive into the the 2022 Washington football program.

Kalen DeBoer is set to make his Husky coaching debut at Husky Stadium against Kent State on September 3rd. There isn’t a ton of national attention given to the Huskies program and Kalen DeBoer who has won at every stop in his coaching career, but Mueller and Grant believe that this season will be the first step toward national relevance.

Earlier this week Michael Penix was finally named starting quarterback from Washington in a move that most who have been following practice and the quotes coming out of the coaching staff saw coming. As of now Penix gives the Huskies the best chance in the 2022 season of maximizing their wins potential.

Penix will have plenty of weapons at his disposal with a deep receiver room and running backs who fit the system well. The question mark will be around the offensive line. Last season the O-line was considered to be one of the best in the conference, but their hulking size and inability to move laterally was a key point in the disappointing offense.

Grant and Mueller dive into each position group and select some big time playmakers as well as some sleepers to watch out for.

They finish the show by predicting the entire schedule game by game.
