Every day is one step closer to the beginning of the 2023 college football season. On September 2nd, the Huskies will welcome in the Boise State Broncos to the shores of Montlake and 72,000 screaming fans. Energy will be at an all-time high that Saturday afternoon with anticipation that hasn’t been seen since the early 90’s.
Kalen DeBoer and the Washington Huskies have high aspirations as almost every player eligible to come back for another year chose to make one last push together to get the Huskies to the playoff. Ranked #10 in the AP poll, the nation will be interested to see what happens in the northwest corner of the country.
Even with players scattered on every pre-season award watch list and a major Heisman contender in Michael Penix, the road to the conference championship or a playoff will be tougher than last year.
Washington has a brutal November with a trip to Southern California, a home game against Utah, before going back on the road to Oregon State all before the the Apple Cup. With this schedule Washington will need to take care of business early to be stay alive for a trip to Vegas to compete in the championship game.
