4th and Inches Podcast: Washington Offense Efficient Against Eastern Michigan

The Washington Huskies dispatched the Eastern Michigan Eagles on Montlake Saturday afternoon. The Huskies started slowly for the second straight week as two stalled drives and a blocked punt resulted in the Huskies first deficit of the season at 0-3.

The Dawgs got things rolling with a fumble recovery by Cam Broussard followed by the second touchdown of Decker DeGraaf’s career. Once the Huskies took the lead the game was securely in the hands of the home team.

The defense continued to dominate lesser opponents. The Eagles were kept out of the endzone and barley gained a total of 200 yards on the day. The pass rush took a step forward was the Huskies sacked quarterback, Cole Snyder, 7 times.

Washington would go on to score 30 of the next 36 points and coast to a 30-9 victory. In his press conference Jedd Fisch discussed the slow start and pointing back to his days at Arizona where they also saw some issues early in games.

While knocking the rust of early in the season against teams like Weber State and Eastern Michigan, Washington will need to start better as they face off against Washington State next Saturday.

Coach V, UW Leah, and Trevor Mueller break it this matchup and all the mayhem around week 2.
