4th and Inches Podcast: Recapping the 24-5 Beatdown of the Northwestern Wildcats

The Washington Huskies dominated their first ever Big 10 opponent as they coasted to a 24-5 win over the Northwestern Wildcats Saturday evening.

The Wildcats got some bad new before the game that their star running back, Cam Porter, was unavailable for the conference opener. Things got worse from their as Jack Lausch was under duress from the first snap. Lausch finsihed with just 53 yard through the air and 21 yards on the ground. His 21 rushing yards led the team.

His receivers didn’t help much either. One of his two interceptions on the evening came when the ball bounced right off the chest plate of the receiver into the waiting arms of Khmori House.

The offense got things started on their second position when Will Rogers connected with Denzel Boston for a 46 yard bomb for the first points of the contest.

There are no hyperbolic words strong enough to define the effort Elijah Jackson showed on the 96 yard return by Northwestern to prevent them to score a touchdown. The defense came out and held them from the four on four straight plays to turn the Wildcats over on downs.

Washington has now held three of their first four opponents to zero touchdowns.

Coach V, Jake Grant, and Trevor Mueller break down the matchup that leaves the Huskies on top of the Big 10 standings.
