After the final leg of his nearly two-month long recruiting journey, 4-star offensive lineman Fletcher Westphal of Leesburg, Virginia will narrow his final schools of interest to five in a week’s time.

Listed on most recruiting services as a top 25 tackle, he spent Friday and Saturday at the University of Washington.

Last year on November 30 he cut his list to 10.  Today after, 5 months and thousands of miles later Westphal announced that  make his next cut.  At that time he listed his Top 10 as Tennessee, Clemson, Auburn, Virginia Tech, Oregon, Arkansas, Florida,  Michigan State, Georgia and of course Washington, where he visited this past weekend.

In the span of 7 weeks Westphal visited 12 schools, wrapping up with Washington this past weekend.

Interestingly, Oregon made his top 10 but did it appears that Westphal not go to Eugene.

Clearly all of his reported 6-8 and 330 pounds, the Virginia big man was one of the first Spring Game visitors on the field.  He stood with his family engrossed in his observations of how Washington’s OL coach Scott Huff was coaching his offensive line.
