2022 Signing Day in the Books

2022 Signing Day in the Books

The Huskies finished off the 2022 recruiting cycle relatively strong, considering a car-crash of a season and a brand new coaching staff.

The transfer portal played a huge role in filling spots, while the coaches were able to secure letters from eight high school seniors.

It wasn’t sexy, but the class was going to be small — and the Husky roster is currently still quite young.

This is similar to the Class of 2014; Chris Petersen’s first class at Washington. It had a couple 4-star prospects in Budda Baker and Kaleb McGary, but the rest of the class consisted of several unknowns such as 2-star prospect Will Dissly and 3-star receiver Dante Pettis, and don’t forget about 3-star sleeper, Sidney Jones…

Let that be a lesson: Stars only tell half the story in recruiting.

As we all learned during the Petersen era, development is the other half of the story.

This is what Husky fans will need to pay close attention to in the year ahead as the Kalen DeBoer era begins at Washington. But going into the transfer portal as aggressively as Washington did was crucial in getting things off to a good start.

What’s next?

Josh Conerly is still undecided, and the Dawgs are still grinding to bring him into the fold.

Here’s the entire list of newcomers from today, with links to gohuskies.com on each player.
