2020 4-Star Wideout Talks New Husky Offer, and Unofficial Trip to UW

The Husky coaches got busy over the weekend; with a couple new offers going out to 2020 prospects. One of which went to Narbonne High School (CA) 4-star receiver, Joshua Jackson Jr.

Jackson, who’s 6-2, 185 and holds nine offers, said he had been thinking about heading up to UW, and was hoping that the offer was forth-coming, “It’s a big deal for me and my family”, Jackson said this week, “It was an amazing experience…I wanted to go up there and get the full experience.”

Jackson is a guy whose height and strength make him an imposing receiver, but he’s also very agile and athletic — so he’s threatening in just about every facet of the receiving game. He can be a deep threat, but he also can make the most out of a quick slant or a corner route. Jackson has silky-smooth hands, is very fluid, and is solid at blocking.

Before checking out Washington, Jackson also saw Oregon, USC, and Arizona State, “Those weren’t during games though”, he said.

“I think the highlight of the trip was the photoshoot and just getting the offer”, he said, “Coach Lubick and I have a great connection…and Coach Petersen is a great guy and he’s very family-oriented.”

It’s still way before early with Jackson, but the Huskies definitely made a big impression over the weekend, and he does know quite a few guys already on the Husky roster, “Julius Irvin, Keith Taylor, Brandon McKinny, and Terrell Bynum”, he said.

Jackson was accompanied by both parents and his two younger sisters — and they did get to see some of Seattle too, “There’s great diversity there”, he said, “And a lot of main attractions. I’m definitely going back up (for an official visit).”

If you’re looking up stats, you need to keep in mind that, due to a change of job location for his mother, Jackson transferred from Orange Lutheran High School to Narbonne this past fall and so he’s only played in five game for the Gauchos. But in those five games he’s put up 558 receiving yards (averaging 111 per game) and his season is still ongoing as they go up against Venice this weekend.

This spring Jackson plans to take part in the NIKE and Rivals combines.

Right now he’s definitely a guy to keep your eye on going forward.
