Myles Gaskin had a huge day, rushing for 169 yards and one touchdown, while Lavon Coleman added 94 yards and three touchdowns.
Washington needed to commit to the run after the trouble they had in the desert against Arizona State two weeks ago, and they did just that and it worked all day against a UCLA defense that was averaging over 300 rushing yards per game coming in.
The Husky defense was stout, holding UCLA to just 16 points after they were averaging over 30 per game — but what didn’t help the Bruins was Josh Rosen coming out permanently in the third quarter. Rosen was under pressure all day and the Husky defense threw him around like a rag doll.
The only touchdowns of the second half for the Bruins came off a short pass from back up quarterback, Devon Modster to receiver, Darren Andrews.
Late in the game, the Husky third string offense fumbled and a UCLA defender picked it up to run for a touchdown.
The bad news for Washington was the hit on the leg of tight end, Hunter Bryant, that sent him to the locker room. As of right now there’s no official word yet on the status of Bryant
