Utah 2021 BUCK Very Excited about Husky Offer

The Huskies continue to check out 2021 prospects while on the road for this spring’s evaluation period, and another Utah prospect was offered this week by the name of Logan Fano.

Fano, who’s from Timpview High School in Provo spoke to Realdawg.com about what this new offer means to him, and also to his current pledge to BYU.

“It’s just crazy”, the 6-4, 225 outside linebacker said of his offer from Washington, “It’s just awesome and I love Coach Malloe. Washington is a big school and I’m just kind of in shock.”

Fano seriously didn’t see this coming so early, but he couldn’t be more excited about it, “Coach Malloe started recruiting me during the spring of my freshman year, but I didn’t think all of this would happen so fast.”

It’s happened eight times now, however, as Fano holds offers from Utah, Michigan, Nebraska, BYU, Arizona, Arizona State, and Utah State in addition to the newest offer from the Huskies.

And he wasn’t even playing this past season, “I tore my ACL in the spring”, he said, but he’s 100% now and ready to rock this fall.

What are the coaches seeing? A lot of speed and athleticism off the edge. Fano is a guy who has the frame to add some more weight (and he’s still young) and he also has an extremely good football IQ. He’s a hard worker and simply has a motor that doesn’t quit on the field.

His ceiling is very high and he’s a guy who could be a very special player at the next level.

His family already is well familiar with Ikaika Malloe; his father followed Malloe’s career at Washington and also what he did at Utah State when he was coaching there.

“I love Coach Malloe”, Fano said.

But what about the commitment to BYU? Will that stick?

“I committed to them when I was in eighth grade”, Fano said, “I guess we’ll see”. He is LDS and says he plans to take a mission — but whether or not he takes it out of high school or after college is still up in the air.

For now, Fano said he definitely plans to be in Seattle after school is out (most likely June 22nd) and also wants to check out Nebraska. He’s been back to Michigan and Stanford.
